Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Street Lighting Design Engineer for the M25 London Orbital Motorway Project. The role focuses on planning, coordination and delivery of lighting design from concept through to completion.

You will use Lighting Reality and related tools, ensuring electrical design activities meet project requirements and UK standards. This is an exciting opportunity on one of Europe’s busiest road networks.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highway lighting design projects within the Strategic Road Network.
• Strong knowledge of ILP and British standards; ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma.
• Experience using Lighting Reality or similar design software.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; professional qualification in progress.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of lighting design projects from concept through to completion.
• Undertake highway lighting designs using Lighting Reality or similar software.
• Deliver and support electrical design activities using associated design tools.
• Manage and review design documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate and manage external design consultants.
• Review design outputs to ensure compliance with DMRB, MCHW and relevant standards.
• Resolve engineering and design issues, both on site and with design teams.
• Maintain trackers and registers for design deliverables, including O&M manuals and H&S files.
• Liaise with internal teams, supply chain and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery.
• Stay up to date with changes to standards and best practices, sharing knowledge across the team.

My client has a terrific opportunity for a Street Lighting Design Engineer for their M25 London Orbital Motorway Project.

They operate and maintain the M25 - the busiest motorway in Europe - delivering over £100m of annual investment alongside planned and reactive maintenance.

What you'll be doing

As a Street Lighting Design Engineer, you will:
