Job summary

Serco Leisure is seeking a Senior Lifeguard to support the Duty Manager in running a safe, welcoming leisure centre. You will supervise lifeguards and staff, maintain pool safety and cleanliness, and ensure high standards across the facility.

You will lead by example, coordinate daily operations, and help create an active and healthy environment for visitors. Hybrid working is possible where feasible.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to supervise and motivate lifeguards and leisure staff.
• Excellent communication and quick decision-making in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer care to pool users of all ages and supervise activities.
• Support the Duty Manager and act as Relief Duty Manager when needed.
• Open and close the facility as required and be the responsible person when necessary.
• Supervise, motivate, and support Lifeguards and Leisure Assistants on each shift.
• Oversee poolside operations and ensure safe supervision of activities.
• Conduct checks, audits, and inspections ensuring high cleanliness and safety standards.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and Emergency Action Plans.
