Job description

Senior Customer Lifecycle Marketing Manager - B2B Publishing - London

Salary: c.£75,000 basic + 10% bonus + strong company benefits

Location: Central London, hybrid (2–3 days a week in the office)

Own the subscriber journey for one of the best-known brands in the financial publishing sector

Thousands of financial-sector professionals are entitled to this business's research subscriptions. Not enough of them log in, come back and get the value they're paying for. Your job is to change that – and you'll set the strategy and build it yourself. There's no marketing-ops team or analyst to hand work to: if a behavioural-trigger campaign needs building in Pardot or a usage dashboard needs standing up, you do it, then present the results to the Managing Director.

The business

Our client is one of the most recognised and respected names in the financial sector. From its heritage as a specialist publisher it has become a competitive‑intelligence provider: benchmarking programmes and research that help organisations across the sector understand their market position and make better decisions. Research is sold through enterprise subscriptions, often as part of a wider commercial relationship, so the number of entitled users keeps rising.

Turning entitlement into adoption, and adoption into habit, is now the commercial priority – and the reason this role exists.

What you'll do
  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end subscriber journey across every subscription product, with onboarding that gets new users to value fast.
  • Monitor activation, engagement and usage; build the dashboards the business currently lacks; find where users drop off and why.
  • Segment audiences by behaviour and product usage, and turn the insight into marketing, product and commercial recommendations.
  • Design and run onboarding, nurture, engagement and re‑engagement programmes as automated, behaviour‑triggered journeys in Salesforce and Pardot. Test, measure, iterate.
  • Establish and chair engagement reviews with marketing, product and sales; present performance and recommendations to senior leadership, including the Managing Director, and drive clear actions.
  • Be the central point of expertise for lifecycle marketing and subscriber engagement.
Who we're looking for

The hiring manager has been clear about what separates the strongest candidates. Read this before applying.

  • Equally strong on strategy and hands‑on execution. The deciding factor. Impressive, articulate candidates have been passed over because their strengths sat on the strategic side. With no data, tech or marketing‑ops support, you must be technically self‑sufficient: behavioural‑trigger campaigns, engagement dashboards, segmentation – all built by you.
  • A post‑sale engagement specialist, not a generalist. Your track record is in adoption, engagement and retention of existing customers. CVs centred on GTM, product launches, brand, webinars or lead generation have not progressed. Be ready with specific examples of engagement initiatives you personally owned, and their results.
  • Senior B2B subscription experience. Ideally research, intelligence, data or publishing subscriptions where entitled users must be activated and kept engaged. Strong B2C CRM marketers have not progressed.
  • Hands‑on with Salesforce and Pardot. Asked for specifically. A comparable platform will be considered; Pardot puts you ahead.
  • Data‑led. You define lifecycle‑health metrics, read usage data, find the drop‑off points and build a measurement plan.
  • Articulate and credible with senior stakeholders. You'll present to the Head of Marketing and the Managing Director and need to hold your own in that room.
  • Commercially minded and comfortable building from scratch. You know how engagement drives renewal and revenue; proactive and self‑directed.

Marketing Talent is handling this search and has worked with the hiring manager throughout, so we can give you an honest steer on fit before you commit time.
