Job summary

Homes England is seeking a finance and risk professional to analyse and sanction lending transactions for the National Housing Bank. You will work with the Head of Risk for Lending Products to ensure high-quality risk reviews across a varied portfolio and contribute to wider assurance activities.

The role requires strong financial theory, stakeholder management and the ability to navigate a fast-growing national organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain investment standards and ensure robust assurance activities across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support the housing delivery objectives.

About the role...

Homes England has been entrusted with significant increased funding and responsibility and it’s an exciting and pivotal time in Homes England’s supporting the housing sector through the National Housing Bank. This role will be involved in analysing, challenging and sanctioning the financial transactions including loans, equity and guarantees the National Housing Bank will make.

Working in a team with the Head of Risk for Lending Products, this post plays a critical role in ensuring the Lending Products Risk Team deliver high quality investment decision sanctioning across Homes England - and the National Housing Bank. You will primarily ensure efficient, consistent and effective risk review to a variety of lending propositions to help Homes England and the National Housing Bank deliver on the ambitious objectives Government has set it to help address the Housing Crisis. The role will also play a role in wider assurance activities and maintenance of investment standards across the investment portfolio.

You will be joining our small but highly experienced team, who are committed to making positive change by identifying and mitigating risk to allow the National Housing Bank to provide funding and support to tackle England’s housing gap.

About you...

You’ll be comfortable working across multiple workstreams and be able to use your stakeholder and project management skills to quickly adapt to a variety of projects and tasks. You’ll have a great knowledge base, but be keen to learn and deploy your existing expertise and knowledge in a variety of situations.
