A bit about the role…

As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, we work with partners to tackle housing challenges and enable the delivery of new homes. Our Data and Analytics Directorate plays a vital role in this mission, providing the data, insights, and intelligence necessary to support both existing operations and new opportunities that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

Joining the Data and Analytics Directorate means becoming part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team that is committed to making a tangible impact on the housing landscape in England. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about data, motivated to solve complex challenges, and eager to contribute to the success of one of the nation’s most important public agencies.

As a Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role within the Data & Analytics directorate, driving the development and implementation of robust data architecture frameworks, patterns, and standards across the organisation. This role offers the chance to shape Homes England's data ecosystem, ensuring that data is well-structured, secure, and easily accessible to meet current and future business needs.

You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including data engineers, analysts, and business subject matter experts, to design and manage data models and structures that meet corporate standards and enable seamless integration across internal and external applications. As a technical authority for data architecture, you will shape and refine the agency’s data assets, enhancing cross-system connectivity and supporting data-driven decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and supporting the data architecture for Homes England. You’ll help ensure data is managed effectively across the organisation, enabling better decisions and delivering real societal value by supporting the creation of safe, sustainable, and high-quality homes that improve lives and strengthen communities.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the development and implementation of robust data architecture frameworks, patterns, and standards across the organisation.
  • Shape Homes England's data ecosystem to ensure data is well-structured, secure, and accessible to meet current and future business needs.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to design and manage data models and structures that meet corporate standards and enable seamless integration across internal and external applications.
  • Act as a technical authority for data architecture, shaping and refining the agency’s data assets to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality homes that improve lives and strengthen communities through effective data management.

A bit about you…

You are an experienced data professional with a background in data architecture frameworks, tools, and best practices, combined with hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data models and infrastructure. You bring knowledge of data engineering concepts, including conceptual, logical, and physical data designs, and are skilled in designing solutions for both on-premises and cloud-based environments.

You have demonstrated your ability to communicate complex technical concepts with clarity, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. With a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, you excel at identifying opportunities for improvement, overcoming challenges, and delivering results that align with organisational objectives.

You are adept at building collaborative relationships across technical and business teams, using your interpersonal skills to drive shared goals. Your experience in Agile environments ensures you are comfortable working in a dynamic setting, where priorities evolve and adaptability is key.

Above all, you are passionate about the power of data to drive innovation, efficiency, and better decision-making.

About the National Housing Bank

Homes England is strengthening UK Government’s ambitions for housing and regeneration through the introduction of the National Housing Bank (NHB). The NHB is a new financial organisation designed to unlock investment at scale and accelerate the delivery of more homes, stronger places and thriving communities across the country. Backed with £16bn in new financial capacity, alongside £6bn already committed this Parliament, the NHB represents one of the most significant new interventions in the housing sector in a generation.

The NHB, operating as a subsidiary of Homes England, exists to unlock investment at scale and connect capital with capability. We use our financial capacity and deep local relationships to drive regeneration, enable innovation and create the conditions for sustainable growth. By pairing government-backed finance with solutions that the market needs, we help partners bring forward the homes, infrastructure and long-term development that transform places and support people to live well.

Purpose-driven and built for impact, the NHB provides its partners the confidence and financial firepower to innovate and unlock complex sites, scale up investment and deliver at pace. Offering custom-built finance, strong partnerships and a commitment to shaping better futures, the NHB enables investment that would not otherwise happen- accelerating growth and creating the conditions for communities to flourish.

Joining the National Housing Bank offers a rare and exciting opportunity to help shape this new national organisation from the ground up; influencing how we operate, how we partner, and how we deliver impact across the country.
