The College of Integrative Studies at Singapore Management University seeks a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Economics. The role involves delivering undergraduate courses, developing teaching materials, and providing student guidance. Suitable candidates should possess a PhD in Economics and experience in innovative teaching methods.
The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for the full-time term-track position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Economics (Education).
The successful candidate will:
(i) Deliver a total of 8 classes of Undergraduate courses per year assigned by the College in consultation with the individual faculty member, especially the team-taught mandatory Freshman Economics and Society module;
(ii) Develop teaching and learning materials for the course curricula, including online material, videos, test banks, grading rubrics, adaptive learning tools, handouts, cases, and textbook, where appropriate (for the team-taught Economics and Society an existing syllabus exists);
(iii) Provide guidance to students regarding the relevant course material, as well as general programme planning, course selection and related academic matters;
(iv) Provide service to the School, including participation in events, outreach activities, and student mentoring.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics, experience in active and blended learning pedagogy, and a track record of excellent teaching. Experience in teaching entry-level economics courses and an interest in multidisciplinary work (teaching and/or research) encompassing societal elements is desirable.
