Job summary

Swansea-based senior engineering consultancy seeks an Associate Director to join its leadership team, driving civil and structural projects and shaping the business strategy. You will combine technical excellence with project leadership, client management and BD activity.

The role requires a chartered engineer with broad experience across building structures and civils, a strong portfolio, and a proven ability to lead teams and win work. A competitive salary and package will be offered.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with minimum 5 years post-chartership experience.
• Chartered membership of MIStructE or MICE.
• 15+ years' professional project design experience across buildings and civils.
• Extensive project experience across both disciplines.
• Strong portfolio of completed projects across building structures and civils.
• Proven lifecycle delivery from client engagement through design and completion.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management experience.
• Proven leadership and staff development capability.
• Established industry and client contacts network.
• Experience in business development and winning new work.
• Commercial awareness to grow the consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Manage project teams and provide leadership and technical direction.
• Act as senior client contact with contractors and consultants.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and represent the consultancy at senior level.
• Identify new opportunities and cultivate relationships with prospective clients.
• Generate and secure new project opportunities through network and BD activities.
• Support strategic growth and the consultancy's development.
• Contribute to fee proposals, tenders and commercial negotiations.
