Penguin Recruitment Ltd, acting for a respected engineering consultancy, seeks an Associate Director to lead civil & structural projects in Swansea and contribute to the firm's continued growth. Location: Swansea, salary competitive, dependent on experience.The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with MIStructE or MICE, 15+ years of design experience across building structures and civils, and a proven ability to win work, manage client relationships and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with at least 5 years post-chartership experience.
• Chartered membership of MIStructE or MICE.
• 15+ years’ professional project design experience.
• Extensive experience across building structures and civil engineering.
• Strong portfolio of completed projects across both disciplines.
• Proven experience managing projects through the entire project lifecycle.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management experience.
• Proven leadership experience, including mentoring staff.
• Established network of industry contacts.
• Demonstrated business development and ability to win new work.
• Commercial awareness and contribution to growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering projects from inception through to completion.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to project staff.
• Act as senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and represent the consultancy at a senior level.
• Identify new opportunities and develop relationships with prospective clients.
• Generate and secure new project opportunities through industry network and BD activities.
• Support strategic growth and development of the business.
• Contribute to fee proposals, tenders, appointments and commercial negotiations.
• Help develop market presence and reputation.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior team members.
