Job summary

Wise London is seeking an experienced leader to head the Generative AI Platform team, building and maintaining a scalable platform enabling rapid experimentation and production deployment of Gen AI systems. You will provide tooling, guardrails, and guidance to ensure safety of customers and data while scaling across AI enablement and controls.

You will guide growth of this critical function, shape multiple teams, and influence Wise’s AI capabilities with a strong emphasis on reliability,

Qualifications

• Solid engineering background in Python with production experience.
• High coding standards - test coverage and test pyramid familiarity.
• Experience deploying microservices to cloud-based systems.
• Experience designing distributed and concurrent systems, with tradeoffs between stateful/stateless.
• Knowledge of LLMs and building LLM-based applications.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and designing agentic workflows.
• Experience collaborating with product teams to bring ideas into production.
• Staying current with AI industry trends and best practices.
• Prompt engineering best practices.
• Ability to take initiative while working collaboratively and communicating plans clearly.
• Mentoring junior engineers and seeking feedback to improve.
• Customer-centric decision making across projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams through project delivery using both agile and traditional methodologies.
• Build consensus and communicate plans effectively across stakeholders.
• Self-starter, self-motivated, and collaborative in execution.
• Own problems from scratch and drive end-to-end solutions.
• Own vendor negotiations and explain costs to the business.
• Provide regular feedback and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
