Job summary

LGC Assure Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to join the Innovation team in Fordham. You will lead method development using LC-MS, optimise extraction workflows, and drive novel capabilities that support anti-doping and specialist testing worldwide.

In this role, you will manage multiple projects, interpret complex data, and produce clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong practical experience with LC-MS instrumentation, including method development, optimisation, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Experience developing analytical methods and sample preparation workflows.
• Understanding of chromatography and method validation principles.
• Ability to interpret complex analytical data and communicate findings effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills and scientific reporting.
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Collaborative and proactive problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and validate novel analytical methods using LC-MS technologies.
• Design and improve extraction techniques, sample preparation approaches, and analytical workflows.
• Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and optimise LC-MS instrumentation to generate high-quality data.
• Analyse and interpret complex datasets to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Lead and contribute to innovation projects on new detection capabilities.
• Collaborate with teams to develop and implement new analytical solutions.
• Support transfer of new methods into routine laboratory operations.
• Manage multiple projects with quality and timely delivery.
• Produce scientific documentation, validation reports, and project updates.
• Present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise during customer discussions and contribute to solutions.
• Support continuous improvement across laboratory operations and processes.
• Ensure work adheres to ISO 17025 and quality standards.
