Job summary

Smithers ERS Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Method Development Lead within the Chemistry department of Environmental Risk Sciences. You will manage analytical method development and validation, focusing on pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicines, agrochemicals and biocides, and lead a small team of specialists.

The role blends hands-on lab work with GLP study director responsibilities, client-facing scientific interactions, and contributions to emerging contaminant strategies under GLP and non-GLP

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or closely related field with strong analytical focus.
• Experience in analytical method development within regulated lab or CRO.
• Proficient with LC-MS/MS and GC techniques and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimise and validate analytical methods for target molecules in complex environmental matrices.
• Lead a small team of 3 members, coordinating scheduling and technical support.
• Provide technical leadership in study design and method strategy, and support client discussions.
