Thompsons Solicitors in Birmingham seeks a Senior Lawyer to join our Employment Rights team, handling complex cases and advocacy at the Employment Tribunal. The role involves working within a collaborative group, mentoring junior lawyers, and delivering high-quality client service.

You’ll manage matters from intake to resolution, develop strong relationships with trade unions, and contribute to a supportive team environment while maintaining rigorous professional standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional with solid understanding of Employment Law and ET/EAT litigation.
• Experience managing cases from start to finish and supervising junior colleagues.
• Excellent communicators with leadership and teamwork skills; ability to build relationships with union clients.

The role

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to manage a variety of large and complex employment rights cases, using your judgment and expertise to make daily decisions that significantly impact the cases you handle. You will also undertake advocacy in the Employment Tribunal (ET) at the case management stage. Working within a collaborative team, you’ll provide support to other team members, while also offering supervision and mentorship to junior colleagues.

Your experience should include a strong grasp of the Employment Tribunal (ET) and Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) litigation process.
