Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to own landscape planning, assessment and design projects, delivering technical drawings and managing budgets across UK sites.

Ideally you hold a Landscape Architecture degree with 5+ years' experience, Chartered status (or pursuing it), and strong knowledge of GLVIA3, planning policy, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

  • A relevant Landscape Architecture degree and postgraduate qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience.
  • Chartered status or actively working towards Chartership.
  • Strong experience across landscape planning and landscape design/technical delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of GLVIA3, landscape assessment and planning policy.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, programmes and deadlines.
  • Strong plant knowledge and landscape construction understanding.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Confidence dealing with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Proactive, organized and commercially aware; willing to travel UK-wide.

Responsibilities

  • Leading landscape planning, assessment and design projects across stages.
  • Preparing LVIAs, LVAs and planning documentation.
  • Developing landscape proposals and mitigation strategies.
  • Producing technical drawings, specs and management plans.
  • Undertaking site surveys, inspections and snagging.
  • Managing programmes, budgets, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Liaising with clients, planning authorities and consultants.
  • Coordinating with arboriculture, ecology, transport and drainage.
  • Maintaining high technical quality and mentoring juniors.
  • Contributing to proposals and wider team development.

Job description

Senior Landscape Architect

Advance TRS is working with an established specialist consultancy to recruit a Senior Landscape Architect to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Landscape Architect to take ownership of projects across landscape planning, assessment, design and technical delivery, working with clients and multidisciplinary project teams across a varied portfolio.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage projects from inception through to completion, combining strong landscape planning knowledge with practical design and technical capability.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading landscape planning, assessment and design projects across multiple stages.
Preparing LVIAs, LVAs, environmental assessment inputs and planning documentation.
Developing landscape proposals, mitigation strategies and detailed hard and soft landscape designs.
Producing technical drawings, specifications, management plans and construction information.
Undertaking site surveys, inspections, implementation audits and snagging.
Managing project programmes, budgets, deadlines and deliverables.
Liaising confidently with clients, planning authorities, contractors and other consultants.
Coordinating with related disciplines including arboriculture, ecology, BNG, transport and drainage.
Reviewing project information and maintaining high standards of technical quality.
Supporting and mentoring junior Landscape Architects.
Contributing to business development, proposals and wider team development.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A relevant Landscape Architecture degree and postgraduate qualification.
A minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience.
Chartered status or be actively working towards Chartership.
Strong experience across both landscape planning and landscape design/technical delivery.
Excellent knowledge of GLVIA3, landscape assessment and relevant planning policy.
Experience managing projects, budgets, programmes and competing deadlines.
Strong plant knowledge and an understanding of landscape construction.
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
Confidence dealing with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary consultants.
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite/Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach.
A willingness to undertake UK-wide site visits.
