At Abbott Diabetes Care Witney, we develop and manufacture a number of technologies used in the management of diabetes, including the next generation sensor technology used in the revolutionary new FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring system. We are expanding and have exciting opportunities for those keen to kick-start a laboratory-based career in Product Development.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our R&D team to provide product R&D and operations support activities through scientific experimentation.
This role will be at the heart of the UK R&D team and your input will be instrumental in the achievement of key product and process innovations. You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team.
Your main responsibilities will include conducting tests upon existing and future glucose monitoring products. Acting as a coordinator, you will communicate details of Laboratory activities and results with Project Leads across the department/business. Working as part of the R&D Laboratory team you will ensure that instruments are available for use when required and that all test materials are in place to maintain the progress of business-critical studies.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
To be successful, you should have completed secondary education in English, Mathematics and Science. Preference will be given to candidates with previous laboratory experience, regulated environments, quality orientated industries, and exposure of GLP and GMP
