Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist to lead transgenic engineering initiatives and manage animal care within the Chandra Lab. The role offers a permanent, full-time position on Crick terms and conditions, focusing on Hofstenia and related acoel species.

You will drive development of transgenic lines, supervise wet-lab operations, and contribute to high-impact neuroscience research while mentoring team members in a collaborative, multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology or related field.
• Proven expertise in genetic engineering and transgenic line development.
• Experience with embryo microinjection and non-model organisms is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead transgenics research on Hofstenia and other acoels and manage experimental workflows.
• Oversee animal care and maintenance of healthy cultures and welfare.
• Support lab operations, reagent management, and collaboration on publications.
