Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Senior Kotlin Developer to join our UK Digital & Cloud Practice. You will design, develop, test and maintain cloud-based software applications and provide technical leadership in an agile delivery environment.

The role involves working on large-scale transformations for government clients; you will own architecture and feature delivery, collaborate with PMs, BAs and testers, and help coach junior engineers while promoting secure, reliable software.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns, including microservices and message-driven architectures
• Experience in software engineering practices like Code Reviews, CI/CD Pipelines and SOLID/DRY principles
• Hands-on developing / coding role using Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate, TypeScript, Node, Express JS

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, testing and maintaining cloud-based software applications.
• Technical leadership within a team to coordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with good industry software engineering practices (code quality, CI/CD, security etc).
• Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology
• Experience in technical ownership for a product or software solution, covering design, estimation, shaping and user story/requirement creation
• Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration, release, support-handover)
• Collaborate with Version 1 and customer stakeholders in the software development lifecycle
• Communicate technical designs clearly to stakeholders
• Provide knowledge transfer to team members and customers
• Manage, coach and develop junior members of the team
• Foster a positive working environment and team collaboration
