Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking experienced Joiners to support housing repairs and maintenance across the city. You will handle joinery and carpentry tasks across roofs, stairs, doors and windows, floors and fittings, ensuring property quality and safety.

A focus on customer communication and efficient problem solving is essential. The role requires NVQ3 or C&G Advanced Craft, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in all aspects of joinery and carpentry, including doors and window fitting, soffit, fascia and guttering workstreams.
• Experience of communicating with customers with differing needs.
• Experience of carrying out investigations and tests to identify faults and root causes and implement lasting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to provision of good quality rented housing and tenant satisfaction.
• Maintain and repair joinery items including but not limited to roofs, staircases, balustrades, skirtings, arches, handrails, flooring, kitchens, worktops, glazing, fencing and gates.
• Complete relevant associated work such as small bricklaying or plaster patching to facilitate repairs in one visit.
