Albany Beck is a specialist Financial Services Consultancy delivering complex change and building long-term career opportunities. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a high-profile platform engineering team within the bank’s Technology organisation in the UK.

You will design, develop and evolve the bank's internal cloud/platform, enabling developers to deploy and run services with a unified experience across platforms.

Qualifications

• Broad software engineering background across languages and tech.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge.
• Experience with production‑grade applications and platforms.
• Familiar with testing, version control, CI/CD and automation.
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems and platform technologies.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the bank's internal cloud and application platform.
• Build software enabling developers to deploy and host services efficiently.
• Contribute to integration and rationalisation of platforms into a unified platform.
• Maintain and evolve the platform for existing tenants while supporting transformation.
• Work across infrastructure, OS to core platform services and user interfaces.
• Design, develop, test and deploy production software.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and tech teams across the bank.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, platform and infrastructure layers.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and future architecture of the platform.
• Support engineering standards, automation, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Take ownership of technical problems and deliver scalable solutions.
