Job summary

GlobalLogic in Scotland is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design and build robust microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3. You’ll work across the full backend stack—from API design through production-grade integration testing—delivering scalable services.

You will design, implement and test REST APIs, apply domain-driven design, and work with Kafka, Gradle, MapStruct and Feign to deliver resilient services in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.
• Proven ability to design and maintain microservices architectures.
• Practical Kafka experience (producers, consumers, event-driven patterns).
• Strong REST API design knowledge and best practices.
• Proficiency with Gradle for build management.
• Familiarity with MapStruct and Feign integrations.
• Working knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD) patterns.
• An integration-testing mindset for end-to-end scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.
• Design and implement clean, well-documented REST APIs.
• Build event-driven services using Kafka for asynchronous communication.
• Apply domain-driven design principles to structure services around business capabilities.
• Use MapStruct for mapping and Feign for service-to-service communication.
