Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Senior Java Microservices Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. You will work with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native tools to deliver high-quality solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment.

You will design, develop, deploy, test and monitor services, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous improvement within Belfast’s Paper Exchange office on a permanent basis.

Qualifications

• Proven Java 17+ and Spring Boot Microservices experience.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture with Kafka.
• Relational DBs (DB2, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB) exposure.
• Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift + Harness for container orchestration & CI/CD.
• Maven/Gradle build automation; REST APIs documented with Swagger.
• Monitoring/logging with Kibana/Elasticsearch; Mockito for tests.
• Ability to write clean, scalable code and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Java 17+ microservices using Spring Boot.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver robust APIs and services.
• Maintain databases (DB2, Oracle, MongoDB) and data models.
• Create cloud-native solutions with Docker, Kubernetes, and Harness.
• Implement automated tests with Mockito and integrate CI/CD pipelines.
• Document APIs with Swagger and manage source with Git/Bitbucket.
• Oversee builds with Gradle/Maven and monitor apps with Kibana/Elasticsearch.
