Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Java Developer to join our Advanced Technology Centre in Newcastle, working hybrid three days per week at the client site. You will develop Java Spring Boot microservices, contribute to scalable software solutions, and collaborate across Agile teams to deliver real-world business outcomes.

The role emphasizes RESTful API development, distributed systems, and adherence to CI/CD and testing practices, with opportunities to grow in a global engineering network and gain

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing Java applications and services.
• Spring Boot experience in microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and ceremonies.
• Design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Apply software engineering best practices including coding standards and version control.
• Experience with CI pipelines and automated testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices within Agile teams.
• Contribute to feature delivery across solution architecture.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist with microservices design and end-to-end system integration.
• Apply coding standards, branching strategies, and peer reviews.
• Support Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and continuous testing.
• Collaborate with test automation engineers on functional and non-functional testing.
• Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
