Bright Purple in Scotland is recruiting aSenior Java Developer to join a remote-capable post-trade platform team. You’ll work hands-on with Java, cloud-native tools and AI, shaping APIs, reporting and client portals while mentoring teammates.

The role emphasizes clean code, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD, and collaboration with offshore colleagues. You’ll translate business needs into robust software and help drive capital markets capabilities forward.

Qualifications

• Java development experience within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and Terraform.
• Proficient in TDD/Agile and automated build/deploy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support in-house systems, APIs, reporting tools and client portal.
• Introduce AI into the development lifecycle; adapt third-party trading systems.
• Write clean, tested code with SOLID, patterns and Clean Code; participate in code reviews.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers; collaborate with offshore colleagues.
• Explain technical concepts to stakeholders.
