Job summary

Version 1 in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Java Developer to join our team. This role emphasizes Java development, AWS cloud, database management, and batch processing to design, build, and maintain scalable applications that meet client needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Java Developer in a product development or services environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including SQL and performance troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience with batch processing frameworks
• Python experience (minimum 2 years)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications
• Use AWS services to build and deploy cloud-based solutions, supporting availability and scalability
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, write SQL queries, and improve performance
• Develop and maintain batch processing systems to handle large volumes of data
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to standards
• Work with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and developers
• Identify and resolve performance issues and bugs
• Support junior developers through knowledge sharing and mentoring
