Job summary

Deutsche Bank in London is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to help modernise the Rates and Credit Fixed Income pricing and analytics platform. You will craft real-time, low-latency Java services in a cloud-native environment and work closely with traders and quants to shape pricing workflows.

You will lead incremental delivery, drive engineering excellence, and collaborate with front-end engineers to enable streaming APIs and responsive UI workstreams.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Java development with high-performance, concurrent systems.
• Experience with distributed, event-driven architectures and messaging.
• Design of REST, gRPC and streaming APIs; cloud-native deployment with Kubernetes.
• Strong emphasis on testing, CI/CD, and code reviews in agile modernisation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time, low-latency Java services for pricing and analytics.
• Break down legacy systems and deliver incremental modernisation in sprints.
• Collaborate with traders, quants and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Work with front-end and streaming APIs to support real-time UIs.
• Raise engineering quality through testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Mentor engineers and guide adoption of new tools and AI-assisted development.
