Job summary

Love2shop in Liverpool is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to drive the development of our digital platforms across web and mobile. You will contribute hands-on coding, shape architecture, and mentor engineers within a collaborative team.

You will work closely with Product, Design and QA to deliver customer-focused features, improve CI/CD pipelines, and support secure development in a regulated payments environment. This is a hybrid role with on-site collaboration in Liverpool once a week.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience building web/mobile apps using React/React Native.
• Experience with large-scale or mature applications.
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with secure development in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and modern testing practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentoring, knowledge sharing and helping teams succeed.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality web and mobile applications using Java and React Native (or React).
• Shape technical solutions with a focus on scalability, security and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and QA to deliver customer-focused features.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and day-to-day support to engineers.
• Lead code reviews and promote engineering best practice.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automation and software delivery processes.
• Support secure, compliant development within a regulated payments environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Participate in an out-of-hours support rota.
