Job summary

Love2shop in Liverpool is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to drive the development of our digital platforms across web and mobile. You will contribute hands-on coding, shape architecture, and mentor engineers within a collaborative team.

You will work closely with Product, Design and QA to deliver customer-focused features, improve CI/CD pipelines, and support secure development in a regulated payments environment. This is a hybrid role with on-site collaboration in Liverpool once a week.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience building web/mobile apps using React/React Native.
• Experience with large-scale or mature applications.
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with secure development in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and modern testing practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentoring, knowledge sharing and helping teams succeed.

Help Shape the Future of Love2shop's Digital Platforms We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer to play a key role in the evolution of our digital products across web and mobile. This is an exciting opportunity to join Love2shop at a pivotal point in our technology journey. You'll help drive the development of platforms used by millions of customers while influencing technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and helping shape our future architecture. What you'll be doing

You’ll work as part of a collaborative engineering team, helping to design, build and maintain digital products that power our customer experiences. Please note this role is Hybrid and will require on site collaboration once a week in our Liverpool office.

Key areas of responsibility

Essential skills and experience

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience building modern web applications using React and/or React Native.
• Experience working with large-scale or mature applications.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Experience with secure software development and regulated environments.
• Knowledge of modern testing practices and frameworks.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A passion for mentoring, knowledge sharing and helping teams succeed.

Additional skills and experience

It would be great if you already have: -

• Salesforce experience (Apex, LWC or broader Salesforce development).
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Docker and Kubernetes exposure.
• Native mobile development (Kotlin or Swift).
• Microservices and distributed systems experience.
• Knowledge of payment, loyalty or e‑commerce platforms.
• Experience with technical leadership or team development.
