Job summary

Salt is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join on a contract basis for AI-augmented delivery with Kafka and SpringBoot. The role focuses on server-side deployment in a London-based hybrid setup.

You will migrate legacy apps to event-driven, service-oriented architectures, lead delivery, ensure architectural standards, and coach junior engineers while delivering end-to-end IT solutions in a banking context.

Qualifications

• Strong Java core development skills across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience with event-driven and service-oriented architectures.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised services.
• Familiarity with Kafka ecosystem and cloud development.

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile team to migrate legacy applications to new event-based and service-oriented architectures.
• Lead delivery of end-to-end IT solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise engineering and architecture standards.
• Coordinate solution delivery across platforms and teams and conduct walkthroughs.
• Hands-on development and mentorship of junior staff.
