Job summary

_nology is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Newcastle-based team. You will own workstreams, drive technical direction and help raise engineering excellence across complex software delivery programmes.

Requirements include strong commercial Java and Spring Boot experience, delivering enterprise-scale applications, and familiarity with microservices, cloud deployment, CI/CD, and mentoring. Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to relocate to Newcastle preferred.

Senior Java Developer

Experience: 5+ years of hands on experience

Location: Newcastle (Must be local, or willing to relocate to Newcastle)

Working pattern: Hybrid- 3 days a week in the Newcastle office

Salary: between £45K-£60k dependent on experience level.

Essential Requirements

To do well in this role, you’ll need:

• Some experience with Java development (academic, commercial, or personal projects).
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Python for scripting or automation tasks.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn AWS cloud services.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Ability to obtain SC clearance
