Job summary

_nology is seeking a Java Developer in Newcastle to join a high‑profile technology delivery environment. You will build enterprise applications using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot, and contribute to microservices-based solutions within an Agile team.

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the intention to convert to permanent. Hybrid work: 3 days per week in the Newcastle office, salary £35k–£45k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with microservices and CI/CD in Agile environments.
• Familiarity with AWS is desirable.

We're looking for developers with experience in Java and Spring Boot who are keen to work within a collaborative Agile team, delivering secure, scalable solutions for major clients. This role offers an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with the intention of converting to a permanent position.

What we're looking for

• Knowledge of source control, testing and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS is desirable

Essential Requirements

To do well in this role, you’ll need:

• Some experience with Java development (academic, commercial, or personal projects).
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Python for scripting or automation tasks.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn AWS cloud services.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Ability to obtain SC clearance
