Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications. You will leverage AWS services to deploy cloud-based solutions, optimize database schemas, and support large-scale batch processing workflows.

The role requires 5+ years of Java experience, strong knowledge of Spring/Hibernate/REST, and a collaborative mindset to work with product managers, QA, and other developers across a flexible/remote UK-based setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years’ experience as a Java Developer in a product development or services environment
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bus
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including SQL and performance troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience with batch processing frameworks and tools
• Python experience (minimum 2 years)
