Job summary

Client Server Limited seeks a Senior Java Developer/Backend Engineer in Manchester with Spring Boot and TDD expertise. The role balances hands-on architecture with technical leadership within a small, high-performing team working on real-time sports betting applications.

You will guide the delivery lifecycle, collaborate closely with the Product Owner, and mentor team members while promoting engineering excellence. Hybrid work allows three days onsite and two from home in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend development with strong Java/Spring Boot experience.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and coaching of a small team.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, multithreading, design patterns, data structures.
• Familiarity with modern dev tooling and containerised environments.

Responsibilities

• Guide and inspire a small development team in real-time sports betting apps.
• Oversee full delivery lifecycle from backlog to production.
• Balance hands‑on architecture and coding with technical leadership (80/20).
• Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
