Job summary

SR2 REC LTD is seeking a Java Developer to build and improve backend software within an established engineering team. The role emphasizes Java 21+, Spring Boot, TDD and SOLID practices, with a remote working setup and Inside IR35.

You will translate requirements into features, contribute to API and microservice development, ensure reliability and security, and participate in Agile delivery with pair programming and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Recent commercial Java development experience with Java 21+.
• Strong Spring Boot experience building backend services.
• Experience delivering REST APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Proficient in TDD, unit and integration testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Good understanding of SOLID principles and clean code.
• Relational databases with Hibernate/JPA and SQL basics.

Responsibilities

• Turn requirements into working features, implement, test and improve code.
• Build APIs and microservices with proper validation and access controls.
• Test-first development with unit/integration coverage and pipelines.
• Investigate defects and performance, refactor for quality.
• Develop relational DB integrations and data access components.
• Collaborate in Agile delivery through pairing and code reviews.
