Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer in London to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring technologies. You will design and implement RESTful APIs, optimize data access, and contribute to solution design with cross-functional teams in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Java application development and enterprise software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement new application functionality using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and reusable application components.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and Analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external applications.
• Develop and optimize database queries and application data-access components.
• Investigate complex production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement permanent fixes for recurring production issues.
• Drive improvements in application stability, performance, monitoring, and observability.
• Participate in solution design, technical discussions, and code reviews.
• Develop unit and integration tests and ensure appropriate test coverage.
• Support application releases, deployments, and production readiness activities.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and support teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Follow Agile/Scrum and software engineering best practices.
