Job summary

Occupop Careers is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Java) to join a payments-focused, technology-driven Financial Services organisation in London. You’ll design, build and operate cloud-native backend services, working across product, architecture and engineering to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Strong candidates will have Spring Boot, microservices, SQL/NoSQL experience, and a track record delivering enterprise-scale backend apps in Payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Typically 3+ years of software engineering experience in backend development.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale backend applications in Financial Services/Payments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and enhancing modern software applications and services.
• Developing high-quality, maintainable and reusable code.
• Contributing to microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
• Building and supporting customer-facing applications used by large user populations.
• Driving software quality through automated testing and continuous improvement.
