The Team

As one of the largest professional services departments in the University, Information Services (IS) is responsible for the provision of technology, systems, and library services. IS underpins all aspects of university operations and supports the university’s strategies for Learning & Teaching, Research & Innovation, and Internationalisation. They develop core, interoperable capabilities that are designed to be reused across multiple contexts, ensuring delivery based on business priorities and value for money.

The Role

The Senior Campus IT & AV Technician is responsible for the provision, installation, maintenance, and support of IT & audio-visual technologies across the University estate. They will manage assigned Campus IT & AV Technicians, support workload allocation, and facilitate their development through training. The role includes rotational deputising for the Campus IT & AV Manager and taking lead responsibility in specific technology areas.

You Will
Support the IT & AV technology within key University spaces, including teaching, learning, meeting, and workspaces, ensuring these are proactively monitored and updated, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Take responsibility for one or more technologies or service areas, sharing best practices and sector trends.
Manage assigned staff, supporting their development, reviewing performance, and conducting regular 1:1s according to university policies.
Liaise with colleagues to develop high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective service solutions, supporting change initiatives to completion.
Ensure accurate recording and updating of all IT hardware assets using the university’s asset management system.
Ensure all customer incidents and requests are logged, tracked, and resolved satisfactorily within agreed SLAs, using the university's Service Management System.

Salary: £30,805 - £37,174
