Job summary

The University of Surrey in Guildford is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to ensure IT services and systems are high quality, functional and sustainable, leveraging Microsoft 365, EntraID, Exchange and OneDrive.

You will lead design, delivery and support, document requirements and collaborate with internal IT teams and external partners. The role supports digital transformation and a vibrant campus environment.

Qualifications

• Lead design, development and deployment of IT services using Microsoft 365 tools.
• Specialist knowledge of EntraID/Azure AD for identity and access management.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable IT solutions within a university environment.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role as IT Systems SME, collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Provide technical consultancy and third-line support for IT systems and services.
• Oversee testing, documentation and knowledge transfer during go-live and changes.
• Coordinate tender inputs for technical requirements when budgets justify it.
