Job summary

VERTECH GROUP (UK) LTD in the UK is seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer to own virtualization and Microsoft infrastructure across a highly available environment, supporting business-critical systems and upcoming projects.

You will bring hands-on VMware and/or Hyper-V experience, manage IT suppliers including commercial discussions, and contribute to technical decisions with a proactive, commercially aware approach, working closely with a skilled IT team.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience managing VMware and/or Hyper-V in complex infrastructure environments.
• Experience with virtualization projects, infrastructure changes or migrations.
• Experience managing IT suppliers, including commercial discussions, quotations, contracts or budgets.
• Solid Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
• Proactive, commercially aware with the confidence to contribute ideas and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support VMware/Hyper-V environments in a complex infrastructure.
• Lead infrastructure projects and vendor/supplier discussions.
• Provide hands-on IT support for Microsoft-based infrastructure (Windows Server, AD).
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with ownership and proactive approach.
• Collaborate with IT team to drive improvements.
