Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications seeks a Senior Solutions Engineer to own day-to-day management of local air-gapped IT infrastructure and to build a new platform from the ground up. You will ensure staff have proper IT provisioning and support, while collaborating with IT leadership across Maidenhead and Farnborough.

The role requires eligibility for security clearance, experience with VDI ecosystems, and a proactive, multi-site mindset to deliver resilient IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure or solutions engineering roles.
• Ability to obtain/maintain the required level of security clearance.
• Strong ability to manage conflict resolution within the direct team, cross-functionally, and with external vendors.
• Proven experience working effectively in a global enterprise environment.
• Self-Starter: independently research solutions, take ownership of projects, and meet deadlines.
• Problem Solver: proactive in addressing issues before they impact service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage and Optimise VDI Services: take ownership of day-to-day operations of on-premises VDI environment.
• Migration & Enhancement Projects: lead transitions of VDI platforms to next-generation technologies.
• Collaboration & Vendor Management: work with Architecture, Service Delivery and third-party vendors.
• Compliance & Security: ensure VDI adheres to security standards and data protection regulations.
• Incident & Change Management: oversee incidents and change workflows for smooth operations.
• Monitor, maintain and upgrade core infrastructure including servers, networks, and systems.
