Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications' Cyber Centre of Excellence in Maidenhead (with Farnborough) seeks a Senior Solutions Engineer to manage day-to-day local air-gapped IT infrastructure and lead a new platform build. You will resolve complex issues, align with global IT strategy, and advise on security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years in IT infrastructure or solutions engineering roles.
• Eligibility to obtain the required security clearance.
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts and manage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the on-premises VDI environment for performance and security.
• Lead migrations to next-generation VDI platforms and upgrades.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Service Delivery and vendors to drive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.
• Oversee incident and change management using service platforms.
• Maintain core infrastructure across servers, networks, and systems with certification alignment.
• Deliver strategic IT projects to improve service efficiency.
• Maintain robust IT security posture and regulatory adherence.
• Coordinate backup, DR, and BC plans with annual live testing.
• Monitor technology advances and plan for future solutions.
