Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Cyber) in Maidenhead is seeking a senior Project/Systems Engineer to oversee engineering delivery across multiple projects. You will plan schedules, manage resources, and drive cost control while ensuring compliance with security and industry standards.

Role requires extensive systems engineering experience, strong documentation skills, and leadership across teams. UK security clearance is relevant; the company offers flexible working within a defence context.

Qualifications

• Significant experience and a full understanding of Systems Engineering, lifecycle and capability delivery.
• Experience writing high quality technical documentation and performing formal reviews.
• Experience in implementing full Engineering lifecycle per ISO/IEEE/IEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute the engineering delivery of a programme/projects across sizes.
• Support planning and scheduling; propose schedule optimisations.
• Identify resource needs and advise on recruitment; manage constraints.
• Ensure artefacts are delivered to budget and schedule; strive to improve margins.
• Raise impediments and propose solutions with limited guidance.
• Articulate technical risks and mitigate them to minimise project risk.
• Manage programme/project budgets and forecast costs to completion.
• Coordinate engineering resources and provide project reporting to customers.
