Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd. is assisting a leading e-commerce company in recruiting a Senior IT Infrastructure & Server Engineer to join the team on a 10-12 month fixed-term contract. The role is hands-on, requiring strong 3rd line expertise across Microsoft Azure, MECM/ConfigMgr, Intune and a hybrid on/office setup.

You will work on both cloud and on-premises environments, manage incidents, lead during P1/P2 events, and contribute to infrastructure improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on 3rd line infrastructure support within a corporate/enterprise IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, MECM/ConfigMgr and Intune for modern device management.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and lead during incidents.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-premises Microsoft environments and change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on 3rd line infrastructure and technical support alongside IT teams.
• Act as escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and drive to resolution.
• Lead during major incidents and coordinate activity across resolver teams.
• Maintain and support hybrid Microsoft infrastructure (cloud and on-premises).
• Work with Azure, Entra ID, AD, Microsoft 365, MECM/ConfigMgr and Intune.
• Support Windows Server/desktop, patching, certificates and optimisation.
• Manage virtualization with VMware/Hyper-V and deploy software via ConfigMgr/Intune.

ARCA is proud to be working with a leading e-commerce company that is looking for a hands-on Senior IT Infrastructure & Server Engineer / 3rd Line Support Analyst to join its infrastructure team on an initial 10 - 12 month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced infrastructure or 3rd line support professional who enjoys being hands-on with technology, troubleshooting complex issues and getting involved in infrastructure projects and improvements.

You'll be part of a team responsible for maintaining and evolving a large-scale Microsoft infrastructure environment, supporting both on-premises and cloud technologies. You'll act as a technical escalation point for complex issues, take ownership of major incidents and help deliver infrastructure changes and improvements.

The Role

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst, you will:

• Provide hands-on 3rd line infrastructure and technical support, working closely with the Service Desk and wider IT teams.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and troubleshoot problems through to resolution.
• Take a technical lead during P1/P2 major incidents, coordinating activity across relevant resolver teams.
• Support and maintain a hybrid Microsoft infrastructure environment, covering both cloud and on-premises technologies.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Manage and support the end-user computing environment using Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/ConfigMgr) and Intune.
• Support Windows Server and desktop environments, including patching, upgrades, certificates and platform optimisation.
• Work with virtualisation technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
• Support software deployment, provisioning and policy compliance through ConfigMgr and Intune.
• Investigate recurring issues, carry out root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, technical changes and service improvements from planning through to implementation and testing.
• Maintain technical documentation and help establish infrastructure standards and best practice.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota for business-critical services.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically strong, hands-on and comfortable operating at 3rd line level. You'll ideally have experience working within a sizeable corporate or enterprise IT environment and be confident troubleshooting across a broad Microsoft infrastructure estate.

You should have strong experience with:

• Microsoft Azure Local
• Microsoft 365
• Windows Server and desktop environments
• Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM / ConfigMgr)
• Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management
• Basic networking and infrastructure troubleshooting
• Experience with SQL Server, Citrix, DNS, Always On VPN, Managed File Transfer (MFT), FTPS/SFTP and enterprise backup solutions would also be beneficial.
