Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support a major M&A infrastructure integration programme in Motherwell. This hands-on role involves stabilising, migrating and integrating a legacy IT environment into a large enterprise infrastructure.

You will work across servers, virtualization, networking, storage and data migration, delivering changes securely with minimal disruption and acting as a senior escalation point for infrastructure issues while

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Windows Server and Dell hardware.
• Experience migrating large Windows/virtualisation environments.
• Strong knowledge of VMware/Hyper-V and networking.
• Familiarity with Veeam backup tooling.
• Experience with data migrations and legacy decommissioning.

Responsibilities

• Stabilise, migrate and integrate legacy IT environments into enterprise infrastructure.
• Manage VMware/Hyper-V and Windows Server environments.
• Configure Cisco Meraki networking, VLANs, ACLs, firewalls and routing.
• Support Veeam Backup & Replication and NAS storage.
• Plan and execute server and data migrations.
• Provide senior escalation support and documentation.
• Produce migration plans and transfer knowledge to juniors.

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support a major M&A infrastructure integration programme.

This is a highly hands-on position where you will help stabilise, migrate and integrate a legacy IT environment into a large enterprise infrastructure. You will work across servers, virtualisation, networking, storage, backups and data migration, while ensuring changes are delivered securely and with minimal disruption.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting and migrating Windows Server and Dell infrastructure
• Managing VMware and/or Hyper-V environments
• Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Meraki networking
• Managing VLANs, ACLs, firewall rules and network segmentation
• Supporting Veeam Backup & Replication
• Managing QNAP/NAS storage
• Planning and executing server and data migrations
• Racking, unracking, cabling and legacy infrastructure decommissioning
• Producing technical documentation and migration plansActing as a senior escalation point for infrastructure issues
• Providing knowledge transfer and support to junior engineers

What We're Looking For

You will need strong hands-on experience with:

• Windows Server
• Dell server hardware
• VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Cisco Meraki
• Veeam Backup & Replication
• QNAP or similar NAS/storage technologies
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and routing
• Infrastructure and data migrations

Previous experience working on M&A integrations, infrastructure transformation or large-scale migration programmes would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, cloud environments, SaaS tenant migrations or Linux would also be beneficial.

Contract Details

• Location: Motherwell, Scotland
• Working pattern: 5 days per week on-site
• Contract: 6 months
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Start date: 28 September
• Travel: Occasional travel to other sites required
• Driving licence: Essential
