Job summary

Evolution Money is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to provide senior technical support and engineering across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will act as the escalation point for complex incidents and lead infrastructure improvements, ensuring availability, performance and security of core platforms in a regulated financial services setting.

You will design, build and support Windows Server, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud services with a strong ITIL discipline.

Qualifications

• Experience acting as technical escalation point in small teams delivering high-quality work.
• Working knowledge of hybrid Azure estate including IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows server and desktop OSes; strong AD/Group Policy skills.
• Experience with WSUS/MDT and similar management tools.
• Hands-on VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V; familiarity with backup, DR and storage.
• Strong Windows networking skills: AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDP; WAN/LAN topology understanding.
• Experience with Fortigate firewall configuration and security solutions.
• Ability to implement secure configurations, audits and evidence packs.
• Knowledge of SQL Server DB management and maintenance.
• Experience with IP telephony and multi-channel contact centre administration.

Responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for complex infrastructure issues from 1st/2nd line.
• Lead or support major incidents including triage, containment and RCA.
• Produce RCA/post-incident reports with preventative actions.
• Maintain and enhance monitoring/alerting to reduce repeats.
• Design, build, implement and support core infra services (Windows, virtualization, storage, backup).
• Manage cloud services (Azure/M365) where applicable; support lifecycle upgrades.
• Implement changes via formal change control and validate outcomes.
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Apps/DevOps, Network/Security and vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
