Job summary

SCS Railways is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join the IT Operations team, focused on hands-on support, modernization and automation across the Microsoft technology estate. The role covers 1st–3rd line support, with ownership of complex issues and driving service improvements.

Based in the HS2 project office, you will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to deliver efficient, scalable Microsoft solutions and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive 3rd line support experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
• Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, MFA and Conditional Access.
• Experience managing Intune/Endpoint Manager and modern endpoint technologies.
• PowerShell scripting and automation capability.
• Solid networking/infrastructure knowledge (AD, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience integrating systems via APIs and automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior escalation point for 1st- to 3rd-line issues across the Microsoft estate.
• Design, implement and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and related technologies.
• Deliver automation, system integrations and service improvements using APIs and scripting.
• Support major incidents and technical changes with governance activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers and technical teams on initiatives.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
