SCS Railways is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join the IT Operations team, focused on hands-on support, modernization and automation across the Microsoft technology estate. The role covers 1st–3rd line support, with ownership of complex issues and driving service improvements.

Based in the HS2 project office, you will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to deliver efficient, scalable Microsoft solutions and governance across the organization.

Qualificações

• Extensive 3rd line support experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
• Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, MFA and Conditional Access.
• Experience managing Intune/Endpoint Manager and modern endpoint technologies.
• PowerShell scripting and automation capability.
• Solid networking/infrastructure knowledge (AD, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience integrating systems via APIs and automation platforms.

We're looking for an experienced and highly capable Senior IT Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This is a hands-on role for a technical generalist with strong Microsoft expertise, capable of supporting, improving and administering a broad Microsoft technology estate. You'll act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing support across 1st to 3rd line activities while driving service improvements, automation and technical change. You'll work across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related technologies, supporting users, systems and business initiatives whilst helping us reduce manual processes, improve data quality and increase operational efficiency. The role offers significant variety and autonomy and would suit somebody who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership and delivering practical technical solutions. Working arrangements: This role will be based in the project office for a minimum of 3 days per week.,

• Act as a senior technical specialist across the Microsoft technology estate, providing expert support and guidance.
• Own and resolve complex technical issues across 1st to 3rd line support.
• Design, implement and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and related technologies.
• Deliver automation, system integrations and service improvements using APIs, scripting and modern Microsoft tooling.
• Support major incidents, technical changes and operational governance activities.
• Work with internal stakeholders, suppliers and technical teams to deliver business and technology initiatives.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the IT Operations function.
• Support Azure DevOps sprint delivery through accurate planning, estimation and execution of agreed work.

Essential

• Significant experience providing 3rd line support within a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
• Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, including identity management, MFA and Conditional Access.
• Strong experience managing Intune, Endpoint Manager and modern endpoint technologies.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability.
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking and infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and VPN technologies.
• Experience integrating systems using APIs, automation platforms and Microsoft identity services.
• Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Enterprise Administrator, Identity & Access Administrator or similar).
• Experience with Microsoft Defender technologies.
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar agile work management tools.
• Exposure to Power Platform, Power Automate, Power BI or Microsoft Copilot.
• A physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial and long-term effect (over 12 months) adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
