Job summary

QinetiQ in the United Kingdom is hiring a Principal IT Data Systems Engineer for UK sites (Bristol, Amesbury, Farnborough or Malvern). This 37-hour-per-week role requires travel to customer sites and involvement in digital engineering projects integrating IT data systems, AI and cloud solutions.

• Experience with IT systems integration, data management and cloud environments.
• Knowledge and application of AI technologies within complex technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Proven track record delivering IT/digital engineering projects to successful outcomes.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide digital engineering technical leadership and IT data systems integration expertise to enable a digital engineering project to meet its business objectives.
• Work with project/programme management and act as a product owner.
• Lead engineering and technical teams with a focus on the IT data systems solution.
• Deliver high-quality technical outputs in IT systems, data management and AI applications.
• Lead technical delivery across Waterfall and Agile projects, coordinating engineers and contractor contributions.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality outputs to time, cost and quality objectives.
• Maintain consistency of engineering processes and governance standards.
• Translate customer/system requirements into technical solutions and user stories.
• Identify and manage technical risks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
