Job summary

QinetiQ in the United Kingdom is hiring a Principal IT Data Systems Engineer for UK sites (Bristol, Amesbury, Farnborough or Malvern). This 37-hour-per-week role requires travel to customer sites and involvement in digital engineering projects integrating IT data systems, AI and cloud solutions.

• Lead technical delivery across Waterfall and Agile projects, coordinating engineers and contractor contributions.

• Translate customer/system requirements into technical solutions and user stories.

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience of IT systems integration, data management and cloud computing environments
• Knowledge and application of AI technologies within complex technical solutions
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, toolsets and Agile delivery methodologies
• Proven track record of delivering IT and digital engineering projects to successful outcomes
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Sound judgement in technical decision making with a strong understanding of engineering governance and compliance standards

• Must be willing to travel to customer sites

• Identify and manage technical risks, provide technical leadership, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contractor contributions
• Drive delivery of innovative digital engineering solutions, including IT systems, data management and AI applications, while ensuring customer requirements and project goals are met without compromise to quality or compliance
