Job summary

Zopa, a mobile-first bank, is looking for an experienced iOS engineer to join the Mobile Platform team. You will contribute to the shared capabilities powering our iOS app, including architecture, design system, and developer tooling, while delivering high-quality Swift/SwiftUI code.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup, spending 2-3 days per week at our London office. You’ll collaborate across product, design, backend and Android teams to ensure excellent developer experience and robust mobile

Qualifications

• Strong experience building customer-facing iOS apps using Swift/SwiftUI.
• Deep knowledge of iOS development including concurrency, performance, memory management, testing, accessibility and security.
• Sound architectural and API-design judgement with maintainable solutions and great developer experience.
• Proactive engineer who identifies problems and shapes practical solutions beyond the team.
• Collaborative teammate who raises the capability of others through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Comfortable challenging ideas while staying open to change when evidence suggests.
• Genuine curiosity about mobile engineering and the evolving iOS platform.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Engineering Manager and Head of Mobile Engineering to deliver Zopa’s mobile strategy.
• Shape the technical direction and standards for iOS across Zopa.
• Design and evolve shared modules, APIs, architecture and developer tooling for multiple teams.
• Identify technical risks using data, profiling and observability to improve performance and reliability.
• Stay hands-on, delivering production-quality Swift and SwiftUI code across product work.
• Raise the capability of other engineers through pairing and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend and Android to make well‑rounded decisions.
