Job summary

Zopa is hiring a frontend engineer to build customer-facing and internal web apps using Next.js, React, TypeScript and GraphQL. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing and Backend teams to deliver accessible, high-performing experiences.

You will contribute to the frontend platform by reusable components, improving performance and developer experience, participate in reviews, CI/CD, and help raise engineering standards in a fast-growing fintech.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building modern web apps with React, TypeScript and Next.js.
• Solid understanding of frontend engineering: component-based architecture, state management, responsive accessible UI development.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver high-quality customer experiences.
• Interest in writing clean, maintainable code and continuously improving application performance, reliability and developer experience.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices, including testing, Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery.
• Proactive mindset with a genuine curiosity to learn, solve problems and continue developing as an engineer.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance customer-facing and internal web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript and GraphQL.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing and Backend teams to create intuitive, accessible and high-performing user experiences.
• Contribute to the frontend platform by improving reusable components, shared libraries and engineering best practices that help teams move faster.
• Optimise application performance, reliability and accessibility, using data, experimentation and customer feedback to continuously improve our products.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD and observability, helping maintain high engineering standards while learning from experienced teammates.
• Take ownership of your work, proactively identifying opportunities to improve our applications, developer experience and ways of working.
