Hoist Finance is looking for a Senior Investment Analyst in the Performance Measurement & Reporting team.

Hoist Finance is an asset manager specialised in non-performing loans. For more than 25 years, the company have focused on investing in and managing debt portfolios. Hoist Finance are a partner to international banks and financial institutions across Europe, acquiring non-performing loan portfolios. They are also a partner to consumers and SMEs in a debt situation, creating long-term sustainable repayment plans enabling debtors to convert non-performing debt to performing debt. The role

As a Senior Investment Analyst at Hoist Finance, your job objective is to support portfolio management process by developing and maintaining analytical models, understanding portfolio and debt management processes, and providing data-driven insights to senior stakeholders.

Placement for the role is in either: Cyprus, Manchester or Duisburg.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of valuation techniques and the analysis of unsecured and secured non-performing loan portfolios.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of portfolios acquired across various markets and their underlying investment rationale.
  • Attain a comprehensive understanding of loan management processes across all markets.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality analytical and forecasting models to support decision-making across the business and contribute to proactive risk management.
  • Become a technical specialist in the tools required for analysis and modelling, demonstrating a keen interest in learning and applying new techniques.
  • Establish yourself as a data expert for all internal and external data sources relevant to analysis and modelling, ensuring adherence to robust data management and governance principles.
  • Present analysis-driven insights to a range of stakeholders, including senior management.

Desired skills and experience

  • A minimum of three years’ analytical experience in investment, finance, or operations; a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong quantitative abilities and proven expertise in deriving insights from large datasets, including strong modelling capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; highly organised and analytical.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; technical expertise in software such as SQL, Alteryx, R, or other coding languages is desirable.
  • Knowledge and commercial awareness of Non-Performing Loan (NPL) markets, or an understanding of key commercial considerations in debt management, would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working in a large, dynamic, and international organisation, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility with confidence.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
